Learning and Career Development
The Children’s Health Learning Institute supports all aspects of your development, including clinical competencies, professional growth and leadership development through year-round individual courses and structured learning tracks.
Clinical areas have dedicated clinical learning professionals to support your continued competency and development as an expert in pediatric care, including unique programs for nurses transitioning to pediatrics from adult care.
Our Simulation Center offers the latest high-fidelity patient simulation equipment that enables team members to practice skills in a safe learning environment. With two patient rooms and a large classroom, learners are immersed in patient scenarios with talking, breathing patients – that are actually high-tech manikins!
Dedicated learning advisor:
Our full-time Learning Advisor connects team members to career development opportunities and resources, creates individualized development plans and provides guidance on making the most of our career development resources.
Accredited nurse residency program:
We are one of only two pediatric hospitals with the prestigious Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accreditation for a post-baccalaureate nurse residency program. This accreditation demonstrates that Children’s Health meets the highest standards for new graduate nurse development.
Children’s Health offers tuition assistance for approved programs of study leading to a degree. After one year of employment, we reimburse up to $5,250 for full-time team members and $2,700 for part-time team members. Our EdAssist education portal offers educational counseling and provides tuition discounts through a network of colleges and universities.
Children’s Health reimburses up to $500 per year for completion or maintenance of approved certifications.
Full-time and part-time team members may apply to several competitive scholarships we offer in nursing, allied health and other clinical areas.
