Position Summary:

The Patient Access Training Consultant provides educational and subject matter expertise to systematically assess, design, develop, implement, and evaluate learning initiatives primarily for patient-facing staff that use the Epic Prelude, Cadence, and Grand Central modules. This includes but is not limited to Health Unit Coordinators, Ambulatory Service Representatives, Internal Transport, Environment Services, and Administrative Supervisors. This position will deliver training and adapt the curriculum and delivery style to fit learner needs. In addition to Epic training, the Patient Access Training Consultant will stay informed of key operational initiatives and reinforce through education.

Job Specific Responsibilities:

  • Works in a matrix environment to consult and provide learning solutions for onboarding, process and program enhancements, as well as closing performance gaps
  • Trains non-clinical, patient-facing staff on Epic access modules including Prelude, Cadence, and Grand Central
  • Develops and maintains Epic curricula to reflect current workflows and operational expectations
  • Delivers training using various learning methodologies and facilitation best practices (i.e., delivers feedback in a constructive manner that encourages self-discovery and continued learning; creates a positive learning climate in which participants feel safe to try new skills; establish credibility by demonstrating familiarity with course content.)
  • Develops asynchronous learning solutions in order to provide education opportunities that are more readily accessible for employees
  • Provides learning solutions for other key initiatives that impact client groups, as determined through consultation with key stakeholders


  • At least 2 year experience in performing roles supported by this position required
  • At least 1 year experience of training development or facilitation preferred


  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training beyond high school
  • Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Epic System Application Principle Trainer Certification preferred
