The purpose of this position is to provide academic consultation and instruction to patients of Children’s Medical Center of Dallas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide educational, and psychosocial assessments and recommendations:
Provide direct instruction to patients:
Ability to meet physical and non-physical demands as outlined in the job description is an essential function of the job.
Provide in-services to community schools on the affect patient illness has on school performance (cognitive and social emotional).
Attend meetings and participate in hospital activities and participate in unit and departmental meeting on a bi-weekly basis.
Participate in hospital initiatives (i.e. Unit Councils, Magnet, development ).
Participate in planning for future expansions and administrative goals.
Attend meetings in the community to support patients and families in the school reintegration process.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
