Assists with and coordinates various special projects and initiatives related to Children’s Research Compliance Program activities. Contributes to departmental goals by providing support necessary to investigate and resolve research compliance issues Contributes to organizational objectives by ensuring hospital personnel comply with policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. May Assist in the Annual Compliance Risk Assessment and development of the resulting Compliance Work Plan.
Job Specific Responsibilities
Conducts preliminary investigative work regarding information reported on matters of alleged non-compliance, and/or complaints related to Research. This will also include scheduling meetings and interviews and obtaining documentation necessary for the investigation process
Tracks and documents internal/external reports of alleged non-compliance in regards to compliance and/or research, regulations, and policies. This entails documenting the details of the initial call or complaint, sometimes directly from the source, into a designated “Incident/Event Tracking Database”
Creates and maintains documentation related to various investigations, improvement and action plans, audits and reviews conducted by the department, and responses and actions taken in regards to patient or employee reports of potential non-compliance with Children's policies related to research.
Mat assist in the development and coordination of general research compliance activities. This may include preparing educational materials for large scale educational seminars (i.e., physician/medical staff training, leadership training) and smaller, informal sessions (i.e., brown bag/staff meeting training sessions). Additionally, this position will assist in drafting articles for the compliance newsletters and other organizational publications as needed
Assist the compliance office team with the implementation of Research Compliance policies at Children’s. Includes participating on workgroups, task groups, tracking milestones of implementation
Researches the regulations of CMS, Medicare/Medicaid intermediaries, and/or the Office of Inspector General, regarding existing and emerging research billing compliance requirements.
Writes initial drafts of various reports to senior management, including, but not limited to reports to the Board of Directors, SLT, Directors Council. Prepares materials/handouts for various compliance and research workgroups or meetings.
May serve a major support role in the development and implementation of the Annual Compliance Risk Assessment and the resulting Annual Compliance Work Plan.
7 years' experience in hospital environment, with a minimum of 3 years in a regulatory compliance and/or legal environment
Required: Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
