POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for providing leadership and contributing to the safety and security of people and property at Children's Medical Center of Dallas.

Conduct meeting with appropriate department heads to review results of follow up investigations regarding incidents that occurred on Children's Medical Center property.

Ensure conflict is resolved in an objective and fair manner in the best interest of CMC.

Typical span of control: Administrative 8-10, Clinical 10-13, Support Services 11-13; e.g. Admin: Fin, IT, Legal, HR, Public Affairs; Support Services: EVS, Security, Engineering, Food Services;

Accountable for the performance and results of a team or multiple teams within own discipline

Adapts unit plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges

Provides guidance, coaching, and feedback to team leaders on effective management techniques

Makes employment decisions for the team, seeking direction from more senior leaders on more complex situations

Decisions are guided by policies, procedures, and functional priorities; receives guidance from a higher-level manager on high-impact decisions

Monitors quality metrics and changes in practice that impact clinical, financial, or operational outcomes and develops action plans to address areas for improvement

Provides guidance to others as needed for non-routine and/or complex problems/situations

Monitors and manages a budget for defined area of responsibility

JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for conducting follow-up investigations regarding incidents occurring on Children's Medical Center property and for reviewing the results of these investigations with appropriate department heads. Responsible for acting as a liaison between the Safety and Security Department and other hospital departments by participating in New Employee Orientation and by coordinating other safety and security education programs as necessary.

EXPERIENCE:

Five to seven years or related experience required.

Five to seven years of experience in a field involving the management of safety and security services, conducting investigations and coordination of special projects required.

EDUCATION:

Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.

LICENSES and CERTIFICATIONS:

Texas Department of Public Safety – TEXAS Private Security Bureau Registration - Non-commissioned Security Officer training and certification within 6 months of employment. required.
