SR PHYSICIAN LIAISON
Responsible for driving referral volume from outside primary care offices to medical, surgical, and ancillary service lines for Children's Health System of Texas (CHST) through focused, relationship-based sales efforts, analysis of referral data, goal-setting, and in-house meetings with operational leaders and numerous teams throughout the health system. The position’s territory is currently based in Denton and north Tarrant counties, which is subject to change depending upon organizational priorities. Strategically establishes and cultivates relationships among primary care providers in a specified territory in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Addresses concerns of referring providers and their staff through swift follow-up and internal communication with pertinent leaders and clinics. Serves as a conduit between UT Southwestern pediatric subspecialists, along with other affiliated physician groups, and the primary care medical community by accompanying and introducing CHST providers to primary care offices. Plans, promotes, and executes networking events at which Children’s Health physicians and referring providers are able to build relationships of trust and communication. Solicits feedback to discover opportunities that will enhance healthcare providers’ referral, scheduling, and communication experiences in the dozens of clinics and services at Children’s Health. Attends national and regional medical conferences to represent the health system and promote its offerings among healthcare professionals and researchers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic sales activities among primary care providers and their staff. (Time inside/outside the office is dependent upon strategies and tactics, but approximately 20/80 is assumed.)
Schedule and execute strategically planned visits to referring providers, including pediatrics and family medicine, outside hospital medical leadership and administration, and other identified prospective referral sources as determined in the role. The purpose for contact is to increase physician satisfaction and facilitate increased utilization, where appropriate, at Children's Health campuses.
Educate and update prospective referring physicians and referral sources regarding developments and changes, such as new services, new faculty, programs, or expansion plans within the hospital system.
Facilitate relationship building between UT Southwestern faculty, staff and community physicians including office visits, lunches, and educational speaking engagements.
Planning and coordination of activities in support of a specific service line/audience development and growth in outlying and/or regional Children's Specialty Centers and clinics.
Communication and coordination through use of tools and systems in place to educate General Pediatrician/Family Practice providers. Provide mentoring, field support and advice for other liaison team members. Serve in a leadership capacity exhibiting proper use of CRM system and working with management to ensure adherence to defined productivity metrics. Accompany when necessary other Liaisons on specified, coordinated field visits as a consultant for the service line(s) and as a guest of the liaison. Proactively coordinate with management of both Outreach and the service line(s) to ensure successful communication and alignment.
Education and learning, Strategic Planning, and coordination of activities and tactics with Partnering Service Line(s). If the role is audience-specific across multiple service lines then the same weight of importance is to be applied to those services commensurate to their need/participation.
Communicate, document and report all interactions and business information through CHST Provider Outreach management tools. Work closely with assigned service line marketing representative to make certain appropriate collateral is available for entire team. Meet monthly with ambulatory operational leadership to discuss performance challenges and identify potential solutions designed to drive improved relations with community providers
Actively build, maintain and improve account, contact and other information as needed in CRM system. Provide and enforce same-day expectation of communication of activities, tasks and events in the field.
Drive production of custom reports, dashboards and data derived from activity and referrals to align system level strategies and appropriate tactics, and to communicate progress and achievements to key stakeholders.

Previous physician liaison, medical practice sales/marketing experience having direct contact with physicians in a liaison role for a hospital, medical practice or similar medical business or provider. (3 or more years of experience in pediatric facility is required.
Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, Required
Sedentary - Exerting up to 40 lbs. occasionally during conference attendance or negligible weights frequently; sitting most of the time.
