Position Summary

Coordinate resources and provide ongoing updates, problem analysis and solution recommendations.

Responsible for responding and resolving customer service issues brought forth by other departments as related to Pharmacy Services.

Ensure CHST is in a continuous state of readiness for inspections by external groups.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain key processes, analyze, recommend and implement changes that improve efficiencies, quality and service. Also stay abreast of operational and regulatory changes.
  • Develop and monitor annual budgets including operating capital and special needs as well as review and monitor variances to maintain fiscal responsibility of the departments.
  • Oversee the purchase of drugs and supplies and ensure that appropriate records and documentation are maintained according to established standards/procedures.
  • Responsible for implementing new programs, and ensure that department and hospital policies and procedures are followed.

Qualifications

Education

Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, required

Graduate or professional work or advanced degree; or equivalent experience, preferred.

Experience

Three to five years of related experience, required.

Completion of a one year internship and experience in financial analysis and budgeting, required.

Licenses & Certifications

Current Texas licensure and registration as a Pharmacist, required.

Healthcare Provider CPR/BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification (within 90 days of Hire), required.

Physical Demands

Light - Exerting up to 20 lbs. occasionally, 10 lbs. frequently, or negligible amounts constantly and may require walking or standing to a significant degree.
