Position Summary

The Feeding Technician administers treatments to patients according to protocol as directed by the Speech Language Pathologist and Psychologist.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Independently perform patient treatment as directed by Speech Language Pathologist and Psychologist.
  • Feed assigned meals using appropriate feeding techniques and behavioral protocols.
  • Consistently communicate with the therapist, psychologist and other appropriate clinical staff to ensure all are updated on patient progress and care.
  • Complete necessary cleaning, stocking, organization and administrative duties in a timely manner.
  • Take appropriate measures to ensure the safety of self and others according to departmental standards
  • Maintain all annual certifications and competencies in current status.
  • Remain flexible and willing to help as needed - the feeding program is a team effort.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

High school diploma or equivalent, required.

Experience

Minimum 1-2 years of job related experience, preferred.

Licenses & Certifications

  • Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification, required.
