Position Summary:

Data entry specialist responsibilities include entering data in the claims processing system, maintaining accurate records of provider and member data, and sorting and scanning documents, and special projects as needed.

Job Specific Responsibilities:

  • Input member and provider data from source documents within a timely manner
  • Review data for deficiencies or errors, correct data to ensure output is accurate
  • Research and obtain further information for incomplete documents
  • Maintain a minimum number of claims entered, as established by the claims manager, into the system on a daily basis.
  • Generate letters to send to providers and/or members
  • Sort and Scan documents or print files, when needed
  • Interact with internal and external customers
  • Interact with internal and external customers

Experience:

  • Data Entry Experience required
  • Familiar with CMS-1500 and UB-04 claim form preferred
  • Health care background preferred

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Current Texas Driver’s License preferred

  • Medium - Exerting 20-60 lbs. occasionally, 10-25 lbs. frequently, or up to 10 lbs. constantly.
