This position specializes in evaluating and treating adolescents and families in crisis with substance abuse and psychiatric stressors. The position can provide support for inpatient and outpatient medical and psychiatric services or can provide psychiatric assessment to patients in the emergency room. These services may include any of the following: diagnostic evaluations; consultations on the behavioral management of medically and psychiatrically ill children; individual and family therapy; intensive outpatient and group therapy; play therapy; case management and disposition planning as appropriate. This position also provides education and practical coping strategies for patients and families.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide evaluation and treatment services to patients and families with complex psychosocial needs; provide crisis intervention and emergency services as needed.
Case management and disposition arrangements.
Contribute to program development
Maintain fiscal accountability and apply problem solving skills that demonstrate responsibility for generating allocated billable and/or patient contact hours.
Contribut to the teaching mission of the hospital by working with trainees as co-therapists, and participating in didactics on topics of own expertise.
Lead intensive outpatient group therapy sessions with focus on mental health and substance abuse treatment.
Requires depth within a specialized, critical discipline and/or breadth of substantive professional knowledge that crosses disciplines within the professional field

May lead functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and /or complexity

Minimum 1 - 2 years of job related experience, required.
Minimum 3 - 5 years of job related experience, preferred.
Graduate or professional work or advanced degree; or equivalent experience, required.
LICENSES and CERTIFICATIONS:
License at a Master's level (LPC, LMFT, LPT, LCSW, or equivalent), required.
Initial Pediatric Prevention and Management of Aggressive Behaviors (PPMAB) training must be completed within 60 days of hire and renewed annually, required.
Basic Life Support - Health care provider course (BLS) certification must be completed within 60 days of hire and renewed every 2 years, required.
Sedentary - Exerting up to 10lbs. occasionally or negligible weights frequently; sitting most of the time.
