This position specializes in evaluating and providing evidence-based treatment to children and families who receive services with the Rees-Jones Foster Care Center in Plano and Dallas locations. The therapist will be responsible for working with medical and behavioral health providers as part of an integrated primary care health team. Specific services may include any of the following: diagnostic evaluations; consultations on the behavioral management of medically and psychiatrically ill children; individual, play and family therapy; case management and disposition planning as appropriate. This position also provides education and practical coping strategies for patients and families. Travel between Children’s Health campuses will be required.
- Requires knowledge and understanding of children in foster care and special training and clinical experience with trauma treatment and trauma informed care.

JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide evaluation and treatment services to patients and families with complex psychosocial needs; provide crisis intervention and emergency services as needed.
- Participate in clinical research protocols and maintain appropriate documentation; participate in multidisciplinary team meetings as appropriate to the clinical care of patients. Case management and disposition arrangements.
- Contribute to program development
- Maintain fiscal accountability and apply problem solving skills that demonstrate responsibility for generating allocated billable and/or patient contact hours.
- Contribute to the teaching mission of the hospital by working with trainees as co-therapists, and participating in didactics on topics of own expertise.
- Work with team or directly determine whether the patient's benefits provide coverage for services and communicate this information back to the families and the team.
- Interact and collaborate effectively with a large multidiscplinary team.
- Minimum 3 - 5 years of job related experience, preferred.
- Graduate or professional work or advanced degree; or equivalent experience, required.
LICENSES and CERTIFICATIONS:
- License at a Master's level (LPC, LMFT, LCSW or equivalent), required.
- Initial Pediatric Prevention and Management of Aggressive Behaviors (PPMAB) training must be completed within 60 days of hire and renewed annually, required.
- Basic Life Support - Health care provider course (BLS) certification must be completed within 60 days of hire and renewed every 2 years, required.
