Position Summary

Full Time

This position operates sonography equipment used to produce quality diagnostic echocardiography to ensure optimal patient care.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

*Explains complex technical information in situations that may be challenging with respect to controversial subject matter or characteristics of the audience

JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

*Performs inpatient and outpatient diagnostic cardiac sonograms in accordance with the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) guidelines for digital image acquisition.

*Responsible for performing, archiving and preliminary reporting of all pediatric cardiac ultrasound imaging.

*Performs complete studies on new patients per the ASE for congenital heart patients; downloads studies and provides preliminary reports per guidelines.

*Participates fully in call schedule including satellite areas.

*Assists in research studies, when appropriate.

*Preceptor for students and fellows.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 2 - 4 years of job related experience required.

Research experience preferred.

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Two-year Associate's degree or equivalent experience preferred.

LICENSES and CERTIFICATIONS:

Certified in Pediatrics required.

Certified in one (1) of the following: Fetal, Adult, Vascular preferred.
