Position Summary:

This position is responsible for performing a variety of general maintenance and repair duties.

Job Specific Responsibilities:

  • React to emergencies and urgent needs for service, as well as participate in the on-call process which demands being available for response on off-hours as well as weekends.
  • Repair and maintain hospital medical equipment and systems in accordance with the requirements of the manufacturer, all regulatory agencies and Children's Medical Center Dallas guidelines and practices.
  • Maintain documentation consistent with all maintenance activities performed.
  • Assist in the repair and maintenance of complex equipment and systems.
  • Perform maintenance on minor electrical, electronic and non-electrical equipment.
  • Inspect patient owned equipment upon request.
  • Accomplish and document preventive maintenance.
  • Assemble, inspect and install new equipment.
  • Order repair parts and track receipt of all purchased items.
  • Perform other related duties and special projects as required.

Experience:

  • No less than 2-3 years of hospital environment experience required, with 3-5 years experience preferred

Education:

  • Two-year Associate of Science degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics or equivalent Military training and experience required

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Biomedical Equipment Technology or Electronics preferred.
