POSITION SUMMARY:

This job is responsible for the delivery, set up and maintenance of audiovisual equipment, presentation technology, video teleconferencing systems; maintain the in-house cable television system, produce AV system training documents and end-user training.

JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate delivery, set up and operation of audio/visual equipment for hospital presentations on or off property.
  • Provide maintenance for Barco, Sony, Panosonic, and Christie projectors for data, graphics and video sources.
  • Create BNC, RCA, XLS, RGBs, 1/4", RF cables when needed.
  • Troubleshoot any A/V hardware malfunctions.
  • Prioritize use of A/V equipment based on scheduled presenter needs.
  • Coordinate hospital's A/V equipment inventory.
  • Reserve A/V equipment for meetings and classes as requested.
  • Update equipment schedule file.
  • Check A/V equipment after each use for proper operations.
  • Provide instruction for proper use of A/V equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance for all audio visual equipment.
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 5 years experience as AV Technician

EDUCATION:

Two-year Associate's degree in radio/television/film, biomedical communications, or similar technical certification

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • The ability to communicate with others in a clear, understandable, and professional manner on
  • the phone and in person.
  • The ability to interact effectively with peers, executives, medical staff, vendors, and other
  • customers in a manner that represents Children's positively.
  • The ability to specify audio/visual hardware and support that most efficiently fulfills the users
  • presentation needs.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Requires physical effort to lift, carry, push or pull equipment on a regular basis.
