Advanced Practice Practitioner-Pulmonology


The practitioner functions as a health care provider within the Pediatric Pulmonology Unit for the purpose of providing age-appropriate and culturally sensitive care. This position is open to Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • The practice will involve care and management of patients in the PICU specialty setting. Care will include performing admission H&Ps, plan of care, and day-to-day management of patients. Practitioner will manage (in collaboration with the attending) the entire inpatient course. Practitioner will initiate referrals and follow up on consults to other providers.
  • This position will require credentialing through our Medical Staff Services department.

Education, Licenses, Certifications, and Experience

  • A Minimum of a Master's Degree (Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies) - REQUIRED
  • Current license in the state of Texas (RN and APRN for Nurse Practitioners, PA for Physician Assistants) - REQUIRED
  • Current CPR/BLS for the Healthcare Provider - REQUIRED
  • Current PALS certification - REQUIRED

Location/Work Schedule

  • Dallas campus (1935 Medical District Drive, Dallas, TX 75235)
  • The floor needs to be covered 24/7, so there will be a required mixture of the following shifts: 7a-7p, 7p-7a, 2p-2a (around 160 hours/month)
